I have my computer on my desk in the living room. If I'd really want to play on my tv, which I don't, all I'd need is another HDMI cable.

Probably cheap because steam have released a free app that does the same job. Available on android and hopefully soon on my ipad if apple stop trying to shaft valve.....
Also fon’t forget the postsge lugs! about £7 😉

Thanks for that excellent piece of contribution, Tiger, very useful to know
Steam are doing an app and dropping the link ? that's a bad move. Try FPS on that wireless laggy piece of shit phone with a tiny screen and nowhere to plug in anything useful like a keyboard

yeah from what i read the link is pretty shit if not hard wired to your hub unless your playing low intensity games over wifi so you would guess a mobile device would suffer too. I’ve read some good stuff about how well the app works but I guess the proof will be in the trying if apple ever let steam release it as I don’t have a android device. Also you can just screen cast to your smart tv or apple to tv, so your not playing on your phone/tablet 😎.....I would probably use it for rpg/strategy games if I bother using it at all! 😄

mmm just read I can install a steam link app directly onto my samsung TV! Will check it out when I get home :D I suppose having TV's that have an ethernet connection and the app installed will make the link boxes obsolete eventually.

I can confirm that the steam app on my samsung TV works (and has been available for bloody ages, how did I not know this?!?!) I ran Just Cause 3 as a test using my PC Xbox controller ....a fair bit of lag! but with a ethernet connection it would be "good game, good game"!
So the link is not needed if you have a 2016+ samsung TV It even upscales to 4K from what I gather.
What this guy said

So I now need a wireless k/b, wireless mouse & a passthrough power line set, any recommendations?

I looked extensively at power line stuff and Solwise were the shit, although at £60 each not the cheapest. All you need now is to get a steam link for £2 rather than all that wireless bollocks you speak of
