So its an expansion that includes the full game, it lets you land on planets, it costs forty fucking quid, it has a pathetic 25% discount if you own the full game, the full game and the expansion is not remotely worth the 80 it would have cost so far, and they can get fucked if they think I'm spending that much for an expansion that isn't even finished yet.

Think that covers it

Too many stupid gamers around if a company can get away with this level of rip off

They can shove their expansion where the sun don't shine. Can't even fly around properly in the game that promised to also have a singleplayer, which turns out to be just the tutorials, which suck donkey balls to begin with. No way I am forking over more money to them.

I refunded my steam sale version, as I had played 30 mins and thought meh, I'll wait for SC. I then spent the money on a rather splendid indie space game called Star Nomad 2, simple yet casually addictive - with a dev I felt deserved my sheckles

The combat is one part of ED I like quite a bit, though it's very different to the likes of Freespace and takes some getting used to because most people naturally try to yaw left and right but the quickest way to turn in ED is to roll and then pitch up/down instead. Each ship has a different feel to it too.

Unfortunately I found the rest of the game kinda dull, though perhaps driving around on planets will be more my thing.

Brune I think you have been a bit too quick in judging Elite. There is a lot to offer in the game if you give it a chance whixh would be more than 30 mins. It is simply not in the same league as Star Citizen that is for sure but it is a solid title in its own right.

Combat takes some getting used to but is very satisfying once understood properly.

I am waiting for the game to develop a bit more before getting to much into it which is why i paid out a lot when the game was in development as now all the expansions are free to me.

At the moment i feel the game lacks depth but it is coming. Also the planetary landing and exploeation is pretty special again it just needs some extrabdepth like introducing player owned bases and make it more MMOish.

However having played the alpha 2.1 of Star Citizen any other game pales in comparison even with all the bugs. It is just mind blowing awesome.

ED is a solid game, and can be fun, but it gets pretty samey, I'd say it should be priced at 30 and any expansions at 10. This game is ok but not stupid money ok. How much custom do they want to lose at these stupid prices ?
