I've just gone fibre!

40MB DL and 10MB upload

Probably isn't as fast as some of yours but whatever, it's better than it was!

Well...tbf me neither but there was an opportunity.

EE recently upped my monthly BB cost to 12.50 and I was looking for an excuse to ditch the monthly line rental from BT so...

I got Fibre for a year at 25 (normal price 36) which includes line rental at less than BT currently charge. I'm dropping to sim-only mob phone contract in DEC so that will save another tenner...so I'm not really any better off financially but speed wise it's good so far!

So that'll be roughly 50 per month all in BB, line rental and mobile in 18 months time whereas I was paying 45 just for mob + BB a few months ago o_0! fookin mobile contracts piss me off now. Decided not to go contract any more. I'd rather buy a Moto E (which is more or less the same as my LG G2) for 75 than get locked in to another 2 years again Bollox to that.

Anyway...sorry about that...rant over nite!

You mean it's a 40Mbit connection, or it downloads at 40mb a second? if the latter...jesus!

If its mobile contracts you may want to look at SIM only plans. You pay for your own phone (unbranded and unlocked) of course but you buy what you want when ever you want. I pay 15 for EE a month. The contract only lasts for 12 months so you are not locked in as long. I get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 2gb a month internet. Not too shabby.

Regarding the fibre, VDSL (which is a fibre to the cabinet) is a 100Mbit maximum (80 down 20 up), not regarding vectoring services which is not really rolled out in the UK. (Rolling out in Ireland though, grrr) so that will be 40Mbit and 10Mbit line speeds.

I only get 20 down/6 up which sucks, I hate my street.

"Mbit" I guess! I was just a bit excited...I didn't let out any non-manly noises or anything though o_0!

It's still faster than it used to be...
