Awwwwwww yis.

The most pertinent part?

Quote:
BOOM

Off went the other arm. The mech swayed and for a brief moment, I thought it was going to topple, but it managed to stay upright, armless but not harmless. Its turn was next and rather than fleeing, it headbutted me.

Emphasis definitely mine

I really, really want it but I really, really try not to buy until release these days. Too many fucked up pre-purchases in th past.

I'm watching it though and if the user reviews come in good it'll be bought soon after

Stompy, stompy, stompy!

Breaking strain of wet tissue paper

I read the RPS article and realised the original battletech designer was involved and that they tweaked the rules a bit. Meh, I'm going to buy it regardless, might as well get the pre-order shit.

It's not like I'm spending money on Mechwarrior Online any more

Well i have now notched up 8 hours and the game is pretty damned good.

A lot of peeps having tech probs with it but I have had only had 2 crashes in those 8 hours on my aged rig. i5 1st gen, 12gb DDR3 and 1060 6gb GFX.

The game is very slow paced with a lot of planning and consideration required while in combat or just juggling the day to day finances of running your mercenary lance.

The only downside is the load times but in all honesty they really don’t bother me too much ( and pilot injury recovery times!). GFX do the job but hardly set the world on fire but the game oozes tactical stompy goodness.

If your a fan of xcom, mechwarrior or turn based strategy with a light management layer it’s well worth a look.

Been in court all week and not had the spare brain power to get stuck into it yet. I'll give it a go at the weekend hopefully.

Well I've shelved it for now. Not worth dealing with the issues which is a shame because it has a lot of potential.

I just had the 3rd mission in a row where the reinforcements turned up at the same time as the main force. So the enemy basically get to field two lances and you get one. They know exactly where you are and you have no room to maneuvre out of it. Total bullshit and I don't have the patience to reload and keep picking different missions.

I'll come back when it's in a fit state for release
