Actually there is a defined perfect size of monitor/screen for how close you are to it. That thing don't fit

The only thing I could find was a bunch of stuff written about old CRT monitors from Elf&Safety nutters that included positions designed to keep your back straight when sitting, a position that has not-so-recently been debunked as the "best" in favour of slouching in true FC stylee

There's a thing for calculating when your display becomes Retina like Apples latest screens and this new one is about 5" off my current one, so I should be ok Also I wanted one that would still look decent at long distances as I plan on this being my primary screen when I move later this year, so need it for TV watching and movies etc too.

Luggs it's a 2560x1080 (not interested in 2k-4k screens just yet) and it'll set you back around 500 brand new. I spotted a B Grade unit at Overclockers for 360, it was taken out of the box once

Not that one

It has to do with a few things if I recall. Humans see in a ratio of 4:3 but widescreen adds a small amount of peripheral vision to that.

The distance dictates how much of your peripheral vision you use without having to move your head. If you have a screen that takes up the entire wall of your living room but you sit 2 feet away from it, you aint going to be have much luck seeing anything. Likewise take your phone, play a movie on it and stick it to the wall than sit on the other side of the room and see ho
w much detail you can make out

There is a lot out there on buying the right size TV http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/televisions/article/advice/what-size-tv-should-i-buy but surprisingly little on monitor sizes, probably because we can fuck about with our resolutions where TV is pretty fixed. I guess it is like running three monitors. If you aren't actually looking at the side ones, why bother lowering your framerate to run them?

Bigger is not always better, it is a little more complicated than that. Bigger is always shinier though, and that counts for a lot!

That tool don't work for me. Same as posting on WoT forums and certain features on other websites. Something's blocking .js files from running, I think. And I can't bloody find what's causing it.

Shiny!

According to that tool we sit too close to the 50" TV in our living room... interesting, not noticed any problem with viewing there.

There's two main things I want the screen for, excluding for use as a TV when I'll be sitting back from it anyway. One is so I can get rid of the second monitor sitting to the side of me (and since you can split the screen on this new one in many different ways I can still have a game running with info on the side) and the other is for graphics and audio work where screen real estate is very handy. Having that bit extra displayed on games in my peripheral vision (for immersion) is really more of an extra benefit

Also, SHINY!

Tiger do you have that NoScript add-on installed? Or security settings in your browser that prevent JS from running? Probably one of those.
