For those of us not shying away from an areal battle every now and then, I looked up how many kills you need for each kill mark on your plane in WoWP.

1 kill = 1 killmark
10 = 2
50 = 3
200 = 4
500 = 5
2000 = 6
10000 = 7

There are kill marks for air and ground targets, on most planes they're easy to spot on the tail or on the fuselage by the cockpit. Most of those are pretty obvious, the German ones are not so much: black/white kill marks are aircraft destroyed, black/yellow ones are ground targets destroyed.

Have fun!

The only problem my friend is that it still fails to be anywhere near as good as Warthunder, shame really as I love WoT. It's going to be interesting to see how Ground Forces (Warthunder's tank based brother) compares to WoT.

War Thunder aspires to be a simulator, which it's not. WoWP doesn't aspire that, it just wants to be a game where you can grab an aircraft, get in a quick battle and get the fuck out again.

Oh and War Thunder has Jingles. He sucks donkey balls.

War Thunder is still in beta The game just plays and handles a whole lot better than WoWP.

It also has the grab and plane and have a quick battle box ticked, I'm sure if Tiger did not have so much invested in WoT and Wargamming.net he would find it easier to see which is the better of the 2 at planes at least Tanks..still to be determined!

btw if you have played the Wings of Prey or Il Sturmovich series of games, that's the sort of gamplay to expect, Arcade, Historical or Simulation flavoured.

I personally cannot stand war thunder. Not quite sure why. I'm not really convinced WoWP is any good either though.

I think with aircraft it is extremely tricky to make it accessible and compelling at the same time. I mean, look at how battlefield has struggled over the years, and it's never had more than a handful of different aircraft to balance.

Different type/genre of game though...

All are fairly arcade games attempting to have accessible flying mechanics. Even if BF and PS flying are part of a broader game.

That's not to say you can't have fun, compelling, and easy to get started flight in games. Its more that the ones that totally disregard reality tend to do better. Where WoWP and WT can't easily do that.

I have enjoyed WoWP so far mind you, but its not going to be more than a casual blast about from time to time for me. (And honestly, I suspect that's going to be broadly true of the game in general, but given WG.net's playerbase, that might well be enough.)
