Hello all

Saw this post they stuck up on the launch thingy and thought it may be of some interest if you haven't seen it already;

Salient points are;

- At the moment the planned amount of people required to set up a Merc Corp is 12 although this is a [placeholder] and may change
- The players must have reached level [10] or higher
- Between them, the players need at least [12] Mercenary Review Board authorisations in their inventories
- These are 'special items' that can be purchased in the store
- They can't be sold
- They cost [18.88 million] C-Bills

It seems the majority of it will be ran like an MMO guild - permissions, ranks, decals, etc. Lance Leaders can be assigned.

Merc Unit Finances are managed via donations, taxes & revenues (tax rate will be set by the Merc Commander and those with the privelage to do so). A planetary revenue is mentioned but no details on it yet..

Sounds okay but I'm sure will take several years to be put in place...

From someone who's only played it once or twice (and found it fairly mediocre, and the F2P aspects well outside of what I would consider acceptable), yet again this seems to have really high requirements.

I could be entirely wrong though.

Each of the 12 players needs to contribute 18m or someone has to pay for the extra, which means setting up one costs a grand total of... *DRUM ROLL* 225.6 million CBills.

I'm sure those authorisations will be cheaper to buy with MC though

It's a place holder so it could change although (as with anything relating to Mechwarrior Online) I'm not holding my breath.

I created a Unit called Smoke Me A Kitfox, that's right, [SMAK].

Apparently they didn't put all this shit in after all, you can create a unit solo and it doesn't cost anything. No idea about affiliating it with a Faction though, don't think you can do that yet.
