Ready for the bad news? PC isn’t mentioned as a release platform. At this stage of the game, though, that doesn’t mean it won’t come our way eventually.

FU then. :P

Aye, if they don't want my money I'm perfectly happy not to give it to them

This is looking pretty good

Tom Clancy's The Division - Dark Zone Walkthrough

Looks a bit scripted/organised but certainly shows off some promise!

Due March 8th 2016

It looks feckin' ace. Been following this since the PS4 was released. Only downside is that it's Ubisoft. Not only have they gone through a bit of gamer-scandal with the Watchdogs graphics downgrade thing, but they are also putting a lot of effort into the new Assasins Creed, Rainbow Six Siege AND the new Ghost Recon, which in itself is meant to be a massive game. Slightly concerned it'll just be a cookie cutter re-skin job.

And it's a Christmas themed game (a la Die Hard, Die Hard 2 and...errr...Home Alone)...shame it isn't gonna be released over Xmas.

PC EXCLUSIVE FEATURES

Massive Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment have their roots in PC development. Both studios worked hard to craft a first-rate PC experience. The Division on PC is not a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version taking advantage of everything this platform has to offer:

PLAY IT YOUR WAY…

• Flexible user interface: move, scale and adjust the opacity of the HUD.

• Intuitive controls: navigate easily through the interface, inventory panels and map designed specifically to be used with a mouse or a controller.

• Full mouse & keyboard support: opt for the high precision mouse and keyboard experience and switch to a controller in the middle of any encounter without interruption.

• Text chat: team up with more agents of The Division by using the in-game text chat.

…FROM LAPTOP TO TRIPLE-SCREEN MONSTER COMPUTER.

• Optimized graphic settings & customised GPU effects: adjust a vast variety of technology treats, from realistic lightning, shading, snow particles, local reflection, fog volumetric scattering, depth of field and much more…

• Multi-GPU support: unleash the graphic power of the best computer set ups for jaw-dropping graphics powered by Massive Entertainment’s game engine Snowdrop.

• Multi-screen support: play with up to 3 screens for the most immersive and stunning experience of The Division.

• Multi-resolutions: opt for 1080p or 4k and automatically adapt the resolution to fit multi-screen configurations with FOV correction.

• Unlocked framerate: let the most powerful computer reach the highest framerate.

• HBA0+: enjoy the most realistic shadowing, lightning algorithm and ambient occlusion.

Yeah, that's good!

I was watching a Live beta stream yesterday. It looks...ok. Looks like it will be a fun blast with multiplayer in the same way that Payday 2 is, but not much more. The same snowy urban NY throughout with get boring IMO, and they've separated out the PVP stuff into specific 'dark zone' areas with a 'going rogue' mechanic (you are non hostile until you shoot another non hostile which turns you 'Rogue') which is a neat idea on the face of it, until you realise it's basically the same PVP flagging mechanic as WoW, which is a bit lame. Also, the skill system looks a bit bollocks with very little room to make unique builds. Also there is 1 enemy type (human) split among 4 factions.

As for the good, it looks pretty stunning. The visuals look top notch. Pretty basic combat with cover mechanics but looks fun to play. In PVP dark zone, there is a cool mechanic for getting gear. It drops, you pick it up but you can;t use it. You have to get to an extraction point and fire off a flare, wait for 2 minutes and then extract the gear. When you do so, it alerts every fucker in the dark zone, so other players can show up, gank you, and take your gear and extract it for themselves.

I think the xbox beta went live yesterday. PS4 and PC are today. Hopefully the PC version will be as shiny as they say.

It doesn't look special but seems fun and the graphics look nice on console with its detailed city, so expecting great things on PC, not even sure why it spent so long in development, unless it has a fleshed out singleplayer campaign to blow your socks off? The only good thing is the PVP obviously, going in and killing, grabbing the loot and trying to make it out before someone chases you down and takes it back, you only lose the loot, not the gear you enter with right? It's quite intense but don't yet see the longterm appeal, hope there's more to do to keep it interesting.

Is it worth a buy? O_o
