So, the pre-purchase begins today - https://buy.guildwars2.com/

I'll probably get the Digital Deluxe version for 64.99 and hope the WvW PVP is as good as it sounds ! :D Seems retailers only have the Standard Edition which sells for around 50 or the CE at 130, so might aswell go for the Digital Deluxe and get the 'look at me' stuff.

Went back to Guild Wars 1 a few weeks back and found myself really liking it more then I ever remembered, took a good few days to get into it though. I own all the expansions so I'm doing a playthrough of everything, top stuff. But, I really can't wait for GW2.

Anyone taking the plunge?

I'll be there, looked at my Guild Wars stats with the /age command the other day; 1,080 hours played Holy shit. Not bad for a non-sub game eh?

It is over about 7 years or so though. Need to get my monument sorted for lots of bequeathed goodies into GW2.

I did the same, spent so much time with the first one I figure it is worth a punt for the extras. They do really good collector's editions, trouble is, GW2 collectors is about 130 Bugger that!

Worth it if I play it for a month then quit as per standard MMOs these days? Absolutely not. However, if I play it for seven years like the first one, absolutely

Summons Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill: ok this may be useful and will last you your 5 years

Rytlock Miniature: pointless tat that will last you for the 5 years

Golem Banker: this will last you 5 days

Chalice of Glory: this is for pvp so you won't need it Tenz

Tome of Influence: one time use, useful if you bother with a guild m8

It's going to be a great game I just sigh at the often expensive deluxe and collectors editions that come out these days and the content (or lack of) for that extra expense.

So, had a shot of GW2, game performance is pretty bad and quite laggy. Was expecting lag, don't mind that, but the game performance worries me. Graphically the game looks nice but at the same time very basic, you can tell it's the same engine used in GW1. Tab targetting is actually really bad after getting used to TERA, they need to remove lock on targetting, you should be able to run in there and throw damage at the general direction of the mobs, time for MMO's to move forward regarding that.

GW2 seems like a nice game, but I felt underwhelmed like I was with Diablo III.

Played it a bit today, looks good but way too many people running about as usual. Much too crowded to enjoy it so I'll leave it until launch.

We will have to co-ordinate a server too as you are locked into a choice unless you pay to move
