Simple neural patterns can be detected and analysed, and remote actions accomplished with thought alone, by nailing an iPhone to your head. Fucking painful though. 1/5. Would I do it again? No.

Anyone else using 8.1?

It might not look like much has changed but after using it for less than 5 mins I suddenly found that I "got" the whole Windows 8 thing. previously I liked Windows 8 and thought it was better than Win 7 with some of the stuff but it felt disconnected between the metro and the desktop. 8.1 removes that disconnect - now the whole experience is natural and I can not imagine ignoring metro again as it just becomes a nice place to pin your apps/programmes to.

It is I guess the actual final product and all the issues with the release version of windows 8 and the surface RT has something to do with that guy who was sacked (moved on) just before everything got released. He was either against releasing everything and therefore left before his name was all over it or he totally fucked up and when Steve Ballmer saw it fired him.

Anyway it will interesting to see if RT gets totally dropped now.

If MS was clever and I have no doubt they are then they would be looking to completely amalgamate Windows 8 RT with Windows Phone 8. That would make much more sense and enable all devices to share the same programmes. It would be a stroke of genius and would stomp hard on Apple who is just trying to integrate iOS with OSx.

Android and iOS have no Windows RT equivalent. By using Windows RT as a bridge between the phone and the Full version of windows they gain a distinct advantage over Google and Apple. Let me explain:

If iOS were to be integrated in OSX then that would only one way communication. If Android ran on Chrome then again you have one way but if Windows RT ran on both Windows Phone and on full fat windows 8 then you have a two way communication.

TBH I have my wife calling after me and I have to go and I am not sure what I have written is well thought out as isn't adding RT into a sandwich between Phone and PC not just adding another element and if iOS can run on OSX then that would be simple? I have not the capacity at present to think it out. Back later.

I had win8, now I have win 8.1. unfortunately I have a blue border around one of my games. it states "directx 11". this is a RTS, so it's highly annoying.
does anyone know how to get rid of such annoying shite ?
