Planetside and Windows 7 |
|
Hi all
I've just read through Munkhi's Vista post, but I was wondering if any of you fine fellows/fellowettes had tried PS on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine? Is the process of getting it running similar to with Vista?
I ask as I may have 'accidently' ordered parts for my first fully new PC since 2003 this morning, and I'm gonna put the Windows 7 RC candidate on it.
Cheers

I will give you my report asap.
Ordered a new harddrive (SSD ) on which I will install Windows 7 Ultimate x64, the real deal not a RC. Gotta love MSDN subscription.
I hope that the harddrive will arrive on friday.

Excellent, no problem running as admin
Also, thanks Takeru! I'll be using the RC right up til the end to put off having to buy a license (I'm so strapped for cash I don't even have a case to put the bits in yet!)
I wonder if going from a 1GB single core XP3200+ to a 4GB quad core Phenom II X4 955 will improve PS performance... I wouldn't be surprised if it got worse! Will be nice to dump the AGP gfx card regardless
Thanks guys

Hurray, thanks for all that - have resubscribed and have been running around with everything cranked to the max with no problems!
Now to learn how to kill things at >10fps... Nice to have my BR25 char back too
