Thinking of taking the plunge on this..

http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236405

but I've not got much/any exposure to g sync stuff...

Also, display ports... I currently have DVI. I have a GTX670, which does have display port.. I think will double check. Never used display ports before.

Any suggestions or pointers?

I plan to upgrade my pc next year too, so hope this will be fairly future proof!

buy an adapter m8, throw dvi to displayport adapter into google.

why would you want to spend so much on a 27" monitor, though ?

144hz, 1440p. The rest seem to be way above that for the same refresh and size

Thinking I might hold off and upgrade my pc first instead of getting a monitor

Looks nice man, when I got my last rig I decided I couldn't be arsed with building my own PC any more and had a look at these companies that build you custom PC's.

I ended up getting my PC from 3xs (scan), I found that they were actually cheaper than getting equivalent parts myself, when I added that to potential build time for me (and the fact that they overclocked the CPU and did a much tidier job than me) I decided it was totally worth my money. I would highly recommend playing with their site to see if the same works for you (unless you particularly enjoy building your rig).

I resent that comment, I can think of many other things to do with a fruit pastille

I played with the custom builder on a few sites, saved myself 600 from overlockers and about 200 from scans builder.

I like building my own too, and will probably overclock myself at some point.

I should have bought that monitor, as its now out of stock and everywhere else is 500+ doh!

Nice PC. But seriously, 2 x 980 Ti ? Ok, you're not running at 4K, no game out would even make a single 980 Ti sweat in 1440p unless you plan to downscale 4K on your 1440p monitor? I have a lesser 970 and that's a beast. I'd save that 500 and get a single 980 Ti and get another SDD or bigger one if you're not transferring an old harddrive.

I'm moving 2 512gb ssd from my current pc, moving of the new ssd to my old one, going to use that as a streaming box in the lounge.

I know two 980s are overkill, but wanted something thats going to be 4k ready when the screens become better and move 4k content is about.
Really this is about making a pc thats going to last me 5+ years and still handle everything I throw at it. I do want to run a few monitors off of it eventually too.

Its arrived, and built!

May have been a bit ambitious with the over clocking as it blue screened a couple of times.

Got the monitor too. Currently downloading PS2....
