I'm skint till I sell my house (which will be very soon), so I'll be asking you if you still have it when i get some spare cash! Don't keep it aside or anything though if anyone else offers to buy it.

Cool beans.

Any chance you can stick a photo/link or some specs? Need to know it'll fit in my motherboard/case. I take it it's one of them big ones that takes a couple of PCI slots?

I don't mean to be a bummer on this one: I went through 2 970 G1s, trying to get one without irritating levels of coil whine. I ended up getting the MSI one instead. (And perplexingly, it actually maintains a higher boost clock, despite being nominally quoted as lower clock speed than the Gigabyte. Oh, and its quieter.) The primary reason for switching actually was the lack of availability of further G1s. Good luck though!

I am actually a little surprised at the 970s in general, EVGA seem to have skimped out on the coolers across their line, and many, even from the usually reliable brands have the coil whine problem it seems. And yet, this is the most efficient high end GPU in several years, and when it isn't an EVGA one, or whining at you, it really is magnificent. Running cool, quiet and seriously fast. And amazingly close in performance to the 980s that are 30-40% more expensive.

That said, any issues they might have pale in comparison to the 290(X) troubles. Which are extremely close to being defective by design, in my opinion.

When i get the card out i will put a piccy up, as for the spec i do have the side of the box somewhere for this purpose of detail, it was top of the range at the time.

How does a 680 compare with a 760? Power wise...

I think they're actually surprisingly similar on the power consumption. (Like, within 5 or 10 watts under load.)

Performance wise I think its a bit slower, falling between the 660 Ti and the 670.
